The Alpha Nu Omega Alumni Association was founded in 2005 in order to foster a deeper relationship with the University of Dayton
and to expand on the fraternity’s dual mission of “Service for Brothers” and performing charitable acts.
In 2008 the Alumni Association created a scholarship fund to honor Paul Kelly, an alumnus and member of ROTC, who died in the Iraqi War.
As of 2025, the Colonel Paul Kelly Scholarship has awarded over $80,000 to deserving students.
In 2022, the primary focus for awarding scholarships was directed towards University of Dayton ROTC cadets.
The Alumni Association established a charitable fund in memory of Rich “Snacko” Shea, one of the fraternity’s founding fathers.
Many thousands of dollars have been awarded to multiple organizations such as:
■ Christine's Hope for Kids Foundation
■ Barbara Malloy Scholarship at Alter High School
■ The Foodbank, Inc.
■ Daybreak
In 2020 the Gulio Award was created to pay tribute to Don “Gulio” Puglio
and is awarded annually to an alumnus who has provided outstanding service to the brothers of Alpha Nu Omega.
Gulio spent numerous hours as our historian and archivist to painstakingly assemble photos and articles about the fraternity’s 50+ year history.
The results of his efforts can be explored in the University of Dayton’s archives located on the second floor of Albert Emanuel Hall.
